Ed Wiley, V, Founder and General Manager

A fifth-generation native of Fentress County, Ed is responsible for turning JEDD's corporate vision into reality, from identifying potential sites through supervising construction of roads and other infrastructure. Before joining JEDD, Ed was operations manager for Allardt Land Company and was largely responsible for the development of The Highlands at Big South Fork in the tradition of his father, who worked with Jerry Gernt to develop the nationally renowned East Fork Stables. The father of three children – including Ed Wiley VI – Ed enjoys being outdoors, camping, boating and fishing the world-famous Dale Hallow Lake.

Jerry Gernt, Founder

As part of the fourth generation of Gernts involved in real estate development on the Cumberland Plateau, Jerry is working to ensure that his two daughters and six grandchildren can enjoy the same natural beauty that previous generations were blessed with. He and his long-time friend Denver Smith had purchased land to develop just before Lynn BuShea arrived in Tennessee. The three senior partners – all semi-retired -- immediately became friends and saw the potential of combining their in-depth knowledge of the region with the construction, development and marketing expertise the Florida partners could bring to the table. He's also a championship cook, winning the Ed Wiley IV BBQ Cookoff for three years running with his partner and cousin, Ed Wiley V.

Denver Smith Founder

Denver first visited the Cumberland Plateau in 1947 as a youngster tagging behind his older brothers on their visits from Ohio to Tennessee. An avid outdoorsman, boater and equine enthusiast, Denver visited the Plateau regularly over the last 60 years with his wife, Nancy and two children. He's now semi-retired from Liberty Insulation, the family-run business he established in 1972.

Ken BuShea, PE, Founder

A Licensed Real Estate Broker and semi-retired Professional Engineer, Ken quickly saw an opportunity in helping to make the Cumberland Plateau a national destination for family reunions and outdoor recreation. Over his 30-year career in Florida, Ken worked closely with many of Fortune 500 corporations across the southeast. Ken and Lynn have traveled the country, riding their Paso Fino horses at some of the nation's top venues – but they're staying closer to home now that they've discovered the Cumberland Plateau.
